FAQ
What is covered by my fee?
The retreat fee covers 4 nights lodging in a charming NYC Airbnb. All meals are covered for the duration of the retreat. Access to other food bloggers eager to share expertise, collaboration, and information is also covered. Plus intimate workshops, presentations and experiences hosted by prominent food brands, networking opportunities, special tours, and a Broadway show. You’ll also be gifted swag, snacks, and more, including separate mailings from sponsors.

Attendees will be responsible for airfare and transportation to/from the airport, as well as subway rides.
What's the best airport to fly into?
You can fly into any NYC airport, including JFK, Laguardia (LGA), or Newark (EWR). Please note there is public transportation options from all of them to the city (Manhattan), and they range in price and ease/difficulty. All public transportation options require extensive walking and stairs. JFK and LGA are located in Queens, a burrow of NYC so they have the easiest public transportation options.
Where are we staying?
We'll be staying in a beautiful location in Manhattan. Just steps away from some of the city's best restaurants, shops, and entertainment!
What do accommodations look like?
Our retreat offers cozy and chic accommodations right in the heart of New York! There will be shared rooms, think of it as a sleepover with your new best foodie pals!
What should I pack?
NYC weather is typical spring weather in May with temperatures reaching mid 70’s and dropping to mid 50’s when the sun sets. We will have sun, but temperatures fluctuate from warm to chilly. If you’d like to pack an umbrella you can, but Tara can also supply several umbrellas if needed.
Pack layers including a jacket, cardigans if you wear them, summer dresses with a layer on top work as well. You’ll want one outfit you feel comfortable in at a nicer venue or restaurant, and otherwise comfy, and casual clothing will work.
Please bring comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking in NYC. They don’t need to be tennis shoes, but just shoes that you can stroll in for a while.

It’s highly recommended that you leave some space in your suitcase, or bring an extra flat-packed bag to carry any souvenirs, props, and swag or snacks you get in the city. Please note some of your airlines may charge checked bag fees.
Transportation in the city
We will be taking the subway. It costs $2.90 a ride and you will use your credit card via Apple Pay or mobile pay. After 12 rides paid for on the same card the rest of the “week” is free. It’s their way of offering a “week unlimited” card.
We may also take Uber or taxis to various places and would ask that whomever is in the car split the cost on their own. There will always be public transportation options for those who choose.
